General Statute §121-6(b) charges the North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources with the task of collecting, editing and publishing the official messages and papers of each governor. The resulting volumes are very popular and go out of print quickly after publication.The Historical Publications Section has acquired a limited number of out-of-print governor’s papers volumes for the following governors:
- William Brantley Umstead (1953-1954)
- Luther Hartwell Hodges, volume III (1959-1960)
- Terry Sanford (1961-1965)
- Daniel Killian Moore (1965-1969)
- Robert Walter Scott (1969-1973)
There is no charge for volumes that are picked up at our office at 120 W. Lane Street in downtown Raleigh. If you would like to have a volume or group of volumes shipped to you, actual shipping costs must be prepaid.
